    • Exposure to fumes of burning fuel –  In many places around the country, people exposed to fumes of burning fuel either for cooking food or due to living in a poorly ventilated place are at higher risk of suffering from COPD.
  • Genetics disorder – Genetic predisposition can be one of the prominent causes of  COPD. In some people, COPD develops because of the deficiency of a  protein called alpha-1-antitrypsin which is produced in the lungs. If the production of AAT is less then it results in the damage of sensitive lung tissue.
